Interview of Jane

Jane cames from Australia and she lives in France for a long time. She's our teacher of "conversation" in euro. We have interviewed her after one of her lesson and here is the interview:

1-You come from Australia. So, what do you prefer in Australia than in France?

The climate in Australia is much better than in France. And I think Australia has a more "international" population. You can find many people from other countries, there is a largest diversity in Australia.

2-And what do you prefer in France?

First I think about the cultural things, you know, like architecture, art... Then I love the French school system that is really fair for the pupils. Finally, of course, French food is wonderful!

3-Do you find French language difficult?

Yes, VERY difficult!

4-Do you have the same opinion of French people as before you came in France?

Not at all, before I came to France I thought that French people were very arrogant, because that's the idea shared abroad. But I have had a lot of wonderful experiences with some of them and I can say today that it's not true. But I have noticed that they complain a lot!

5-Are French people good cooks?

Yes of course!

6-According to you, what are the best icons of France?

Well...the Eiffel Tower of course. And then the "baguette" (she laughs). Gerard Depardieu is also very famous in the World.

(Anne-Sophie) And what about Edith Piaf?

Yes sure, Edith Piaf and above all nowadays, with the success of Marion Cotillard in "La Môme" ("La Vie en Rose" in the USA), really represents France.

7-Is the French cinema lost?

Not at all!! No!!

8-Who is the French celebrity that you prefer?

Hmmm... well... oh that's a difficult one. A french celebrity? Hmm... Yves Saint-Laurent.
